Tingjie Zhang

         My name is Tingjie Zhang, and I am currently a student in the Learning Design and Technology program at Georgetown University. My career goal is to become a social researcher and an educational designer.

         From the young age, I was passionate about solving problems and offering advice. Whenever someone sought my opinion, I would respond with advices to help those in need. During high school, I participated in people's livelihood survey several times. This experience, which introduced me to the lives of the impoverished and their acceptance of life circumstances, profoundly impacted me and revealed the complexity of the societal structure, leading me to major in Economics.

         I graduated from The Ohio State University with a degree in Economics. During breaks, I interned at banks and consulting firms to further engage with my passions and skills. The reason is that I want to do more of what I love and am good at based on my major. I really enjoy the process of elaboration, analysis, thinking and reflection. These experiences broadened my mind and taught me more skills, and also made me decide to continue my studies.

         For my graduate studies, I chose the Learning Design and Technology program to get rid of the traditional educational paradigms. I believe that in the age of artificial intelligence, adapting and optimizing our thinking to align with the times is the smartest path forward.
